Harold M. Somer, PC

Harold M. Somer1983 graduate of Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.

Admitted to practice in New York State in 1984. Also admitted in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Northern and Western Districts of New York. Mr. Somer began his legal career with a general practice firm for the first five years after graduation and has practiced bankruptcy law since 1988 having appeared in matters in all four federal districts.

Mr. Somer is sole member of the law firm bearing his name which opened July 1, 2002, mainly practicing in the following areas of law:

Bankruptcy and debtor/creditor rights with extensive experience representing secured creditors and debtors in all phases of workouts; bankruptcy proceedings; corporate and individual Chapter 11 debtors, Chapter 7 and 13 debtors and creditors committees; state court litigation; general commercial litigation; lien enforcement; mortgage foreclosures; real estate; commercial matters including business buys and sells; leases; corporate transactions.

Mr. Somer has lectured on bankruptcy issues and law for various professional groups and in­house programs for clients including:

Mr. Somer also volunteers considerable time related to bankruptcy as a member of the New State Bar Association’s Committee on Volunteer Lawyers and the Bankruptcy Panel of the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Nassau County Bar Association.
